My name is Makayla Johnson, and I have the pleasure of serving as the 2017 Chapter President of the Gamma Mu chapter of Alpha Chi Omega here at Ball State University.
I have loved my time here as an Alpha Chi. My experience in Greek Life has enhanced my leadership abilities and has motivated me to perform to the best of my abilities in everything I do. One of the first things the drew me towards Alpha Chi Omega was one of the national mottos: "Real. Strong. Women." I feel like this statement encompasses what Alpha Chi Omega is at its very core. Through its programming, resources, and traditions, this organization has empowered my sisters and I as we move through our collegiate careers. My sisters are very successful in their involvements outside of Alpha Chi, including holding leadership positions in other organizations, traveling abroad, and securing their dream jobs. Alpha Chi Omega is a factor in all of those things as this organization offers a professional network and a bond that will last a lifetime. I am very proud of the work that my sisters put in day in and day out to ensure that this chapter is successful. We are active in the classroom and always strive to finish on top. We are also very passionate about supporting victims of domestic violence and those that seek shelter at A Better Way here in Muncie. Year after year we host successful events that bring the campus and the community together and fundraise for this organization. We are also leaders on campus. You can find an Alpha Chi Omega in almost any organization and involvement including Dance Marathon, summer orientation leaders, Cardinal Communications, and so much more. Deciding to join Greek Life and Alpha Chi Omega was one of the best decisions that I have made in college. It has provided me with lifelong friendships and endless opportunities. Feel free to explore this page and learn more about what we have to offer. You can also find ways of contacting our other executive board members. We look forward to sharing our sisterhood with you!
