Dear Alpha Chi Omega, My freshman year I went through formal recruitment looking for new friends and cute letters to wear on a t-shirt. I was looking for fun social events with thrilling themes and new boys to gawk at during fraternity events. I was looking for something I could relate with my parents about after hearing about all their Greek life stories. But instead, you gave me so much more. Alpha Chi, you gave me my BEST friends that I would not trade for the world. The ones that I can call at 2 a.m. for an ice cream adventure and they'll be there in an instant to join me. These are the girls that will become my bridesmaids at my wedding. Most importantly, these girls are my lifelong friends that will be laughing at all the memories with me 30 years into the future. You gave me a reason to strive for dean’s list. In high school, I didn't care about my grades nearly as much as I do now, and that's because of you. You keep me accountable with so many words of encouragement, extra tutoring, and of course, lots and lots of candy. My GPA and I are eternally grateful for that extra push. Alpha Chi, you have made me a real strong woman. When I entered college, all I cared about was myself and didn't have my priorities in check. Through your philanthropy, domestic violence awareness, you have motivated me to care and volunteer for the good of others. You have made me so accountable and aware of my actions, that it has matured me in the most positive way. With one of our membership criteria being personal development, I know I am always growing and changing, but I love growing and changing with you, Alpha Chi. Alpha Chi Omega, thank you. Thank you for my beautiful sisters, who are the most wonderful and strong woman I know and my best friends. Thank you for keeping me so accountable with my grades and making sure my life as a student comes first. And lastly, thank you for making me the best me possible.
